- 3+ years public accounting experience with solid exposure to financial statement preparation and review required.
- Experience with 10-K's, 10-Q's, 8-K's, and webfiling preferred.
- Must possess strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC accounting/reporting.
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
- CPA required.
- Master degree in Accounting/Finance or MBA preferred.
Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Lead the execution of assigned accounting and reporting projects, adhering to established deadlines. Prepare, review, & distribute external & internal financial reports in addition to the execution of assigned financial reporting projects.
- Perform accounting for more complex areas such as derivatives, securitization, consolidation, stock based compensation, etc.
- Contribute to the identification and prioritization of projects in order to support corporate accounting and reporting objectives.
- Prepare, review and distribute of earnings releases, annual, quarterly, and current reports/filings.
- Prepare and/or compile financial data and supporting schedules in support of required financial statement disclosures including preparation of cash flow, statement of equity, consolidating schedules, exhibits, footnotes, and MD&A.
- Stay current on all new accounting and SEC guidance and provide leadership with analysis of potential impact to the Company.
- Review disclosure requirements to identify potential deficiencies.
- Research complex accounting and SEC related issues as assigned and stay current on all new guidance, including the potential impact to the Company.
- Assist independent auditors as necessary.
- Coordinate communication to management and board of directors as necessary.
- Conduct analysis on balances and account activity as necessary to explain variances, identify issues, and support comprehensive disclosure.
- Interact with all areas of the Company with heavy emphasis on accounting, billing, finance and IT.
- Prepare XBRL filings.
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
